Just finished your game. Very nice bitesized adventure. I just got my Playdate a few days ago and I am also building my first game in Pulp. I was curious to see what somebody else with little experience was able to make. It's nice how you make a relaxed, little story with just the right amount of variation and exploration. Good job!
Hi, any chance of a list-mode icon for your lovely game? And just to match with the other game titles, would it be possible to put the games name in Titlecase? Or maybe the name is meant to be in caps? Anyway thank you for creating the game.
I really enjoyed this and I expect it’ll stick with me for a long time. Reminds me of the ‘80s when you’d find some random world unexpectedly existing on a mysterious floppy disk and you felt like you were the only person on the planet to experience it. Thank you to you and @earl_chives for a pleasant evening.
would love a save state, busy life cant sit down and immerse myself in games all the time, even if it only takes 30 mins to beat (i have no beat it yet so i dont know how long it takes)
Great little game. Just got my playdate last weekend and this has to be one of my favorites so far. Am I right in thinking that it takes inspiration from Link's Awakening?
Only suggestion I would offer is a nice QoL addition would to add a "are you sure you want to leave the island" prompt when interacting with the boat. I had done basically everything on the island (I assume), but hadn't interacted with the boat yet. So when I did so to see what it did, I accidentally ended the game with only 2 seashells left to find to gain access to the pirate treasure. As a result I have to start all over to actually complete the game.
Other than that, 10/10 I won't really mind replaying it to see what's behind that door.
This is easily my favorite pulp game so far. Charming, plays well, polished. All I wanted was for it to be longer. And I don't know anything about game dev, but the fact that this was put together in 7 days is damn impressive to me.
Minor bug find: killing an enemy while it's on a seashell tile seems to vanish the X and the ability to dig anything up.
Thanks for playing my tiny game Lorvald! Really glad you enjoyed playing it that much. Also thanks for the nice feedback and for the bug report - I'll investigate at some point. Making this in 7 days was possible due to the fact that I could work on it fulltime without any disruptions (sick at home) and that it was made with Playdate Pulp and therefore the game is very simple mechanical / code wise. :) Personally I'm proud that somebody actually considers one of my games polished haha.
I actually don't own a Playdate either and still waiting for it to ship haha. If you want one better buy one today, it will probably take a few months before you'll have it infront of you.

Love this game! Super charming and fun.
I've just finished it yesterday and I enjoyed every second of it. Would love to have a sequel. :D
I played this game throughout my day. I loved it. It was perfect for a small adventure. I hope you make more like these.
Perfect tiny adventure for a perfect tiny handheld <3 I love these bite-sized adventures. Immediately made me want to hop in Pulp too.
Enjoyed this. Made a review if anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhsTuUFHX1k

Great game. I had a lot of fun playing it... perfect length of time for a fun little playdate romp.

Really nice :)
Awesome game :)
Enjoyed immersing myself into this like world. Crazy that you did this in just a weeks time. For future players, I'd consider adding a save feature.

I just want to say that I really enjoyed your game. I loved the setting and little story. The final treasure <3 was a great touch.

Agree... two things would improve this fun game:
1. Are you sure you want to leave the island (if you haven't finished the entire game yet)?
2. Instead of saying you might have missed secrets when you board the boat, if you finished everything, make that the message.
I absolutely loved this game! Missed it when it came out, but had a blast going through it (and happy I found your heart!).
Whilst I wished it was a longer, it may be the perfect duration.
Going to my top 10 Playdate games!
Excellent and fun game - Played through and really enjoyed it. So much to find and lots of surprises and funny people along the way :)
Thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed playing it :)

This is a great little game. Your coffee will be there soon.
Really nice work - Thank you.
Thank you so much for your support! You are awesome <3
So this is playable only on the Playdate?
Time to get a Playdate ...
This game should also work in the Playdate Simulator VIA free SDK, but real hardware is the best way to go.
You can play it on the simulator, too. :)
